VC SEVALE held their autumn 10-mile open time trial supported by Pershore’s Echelon Cycles.
A field of 37 rode the popular Severn Stoke course.
A light easterly breeze and warm conditions made for fast times with Jon Simpkins (Team Drag2Zero.com) winning in 20 minutes 38 seconds.
The hosts’ Jez Pile was second in 21.22 for a personal best on the course, pipping Karl Moseley (Stourbridge Velo) into third by four seconds.
Worcester St John’s rider Rob Nicholls was fourth in 22.02.
Sevale’s Mike Amery tied with Leamington’s Rob Weare for fastest veteran on standard and the home club’s Phadra Bushby won the fastest women’s prize.
Sevale, despite strong competition from Worcester St John’s and Stratford, also took the fastest team prize with a three-rider combined total of 68.02 through Pile, Amery and Boswell.
It was two seconds off the club record for an open event.
