VC Sevale hold their annual come and try it event on the 5.5-mile circuit at Hanley Swan on Thursday.
There will be prizes for first novice, under 18, over 40, mountain bike and woman, sponsored by Back on Track Mountain Bikes.
Novices can receive advice from experienced riders on a marked, marshalled course.
All types of bicycles are acceptable and the minimum age is 12 unless riding on the back of a tandem.
Parental consent is needed for riders under 18 who must wear helmets which are recommended for all. Signingon is from 6pm with racing starting at 6.45pm.
Meanwhile, the Malvern club’s time trial was run on the Severn Stoke course with 22 riders including visitors.
Guest rider N Preece set an early lead time of 22 minutes 14 seconds over Sevale’s Mike Amery (22.36).
Wyre Forest’s J Walters and D Meacham finished in 22.46 and 22.59 respectively.
Sevale’s Jez Pile was the last rider away, taking advantage of the favourable conditions to win in 21.40 and breaking the senior 10-mile club record previously set at 21.53 in 1984 by JR Baker.
Pile came within two seconds of the club’s overall course record.
