Star Pearson makes winning comeback from injury
1:10pm Monday 19th August 2013 in Sport
BREDENBURY’S Alice Pearson bounced back from injury with a win in her category at Much Marcle’s Homme House Horse Trials.
The event rider from near Bromyard, who broke her wrist just six weeks ago, led Word on the Street, known as Wilf, to success in the BE100 Section ‘R’.
Pearson, who has competed for Great Britain at junior level, has the Badminton and Burghley competitions in sight for the horse who is owned and bred by Roger Leggett.
The trials returned after being rained off last summer with hundreds of entries, including top international riders, such as Piggy French, along with grassroots performers. They competed in dressage, show jumping and crosscountry disciplines across two days.
Entry was free to the only British Eventing fixture in Herefordshire this year although organisers welcomed donations to the Midland Air Ambulance.
