SKIPPER James Abel guided Colwall to a three-wicket victory at Stourport in Worcestershire League Division Two.

Colwall won the toss and elected to bowl with a good start restricting the opening pair as Damien Berry struck first.

Sam Crichard (1-55) and Tom Coleman then bowled 27 overs between them, picking up four wickets.

Good work from Freddie Coleman behind the wicket ensured two of Tom Coleman’s victims in his 3-41.

Berry (3-29) and Jacob Rodgers (1-45) returned to restrict Stourport to 198-9 from 50 overs.

In reply, scoring runs was never a problem but they lost seven wickets on the way with Crichard (5 not out) joining Abel (76no) to win the match on 200-7.

Colwall seconds won by four wickets against Pedmore in Division One with Barrett Price scoring 62 and also Michael Gooch taking 3-32.

  • BROMYARD are still searching for their first Division One victory of the campaign after a disappointing two-wicket home defeat to Burghill and Tillington.

Ash Bullock (40), Eral Anderson (38) and Dinusha Fernando (33) fired them to 212-6 from 50 overs but their Herefordshire rivals replied with 215-8.

Bromyard are now thirdfrom- bottom despite the efforts of their former Sri Lankan international Fernando who took 3-55.

The seconds stormed to a nine-wicket success over Himley in Division Two with an opening partnership of 140 by Edd Oliver (76no) and James Owens (49).

Bromyard successfully chased down the hosts’ 150-7 when Ben Green claimed 3-44.

  • DIVISION Six leaders Canon Frome beat Highley by four wickets after the hosts were dismissed for 164 in 45 overs thanks to David Wilson’s 4-28 and 3-31 from Nick Evans.
  • THE top-of-the-table Birmingham and District Premier League Division Two clash ended quickly in Herefordshire.

Harborne rolled Eastnor over for 72 before cruising to a six-wicket victory which saw the Clenchers Mill Lane club drop to fifth in the table.

Shahid Ahmed took 3-23 and Josh Emery (22) topscored with the bat.

Eastnor seconds slipped up in Division Two South as well, losing by five wickets at Ombersley. Opener Nick Bollen fired 91, however.

  • WORCESTER Nomads continue to struggle in Division Three following a ninewicket thrashing at Tamworth when they were dismissed for just 49.

Only Jace O’Hara (24) and Lewis Austin (12) troubled the scorers.

The seconds fell by three wickets against Berkswell in Bransford after totalling 140.
