LEIGH AND BRANSFORD BADGERS: The Worcester and District League Saturday Division Two team line up.
LEIGH and Bransford Badgers picked up only their second Worcester and District League Saturday win of the season to hit Worcester Anchors’ title hopes.
The villagers won 5-3 on their travels in Division Two with Ashley Jones scoring twice.
Malvern Hills gained three valuable points with a 3-1 win over Foregate.
Keeper Ryan Clarke was forced into three early saves early before Anthony Orgee fired Hills ahead at the other end from Craig Tommey’s through-ball.
The second came minutes later when Luke Carter took the ball on his chest and volleyed home from the edge of the area after a poor clearance.
Orgee created an opening for Matt McIntosh to score again in the second period before Foregate’s penalty consolation following a foul by Carter. Sunday Division One leaders Malvern Radar made it 11 consecutive wins with a narrow 3-2 success at local rivals Colwall St James.
Dave Jones notched a hat-trick as Malvern Victoria triumphed 3-1 at the University of Worcester in Division Three. The race for the Division Four crown looks like going to the wire with Powick Reserves thumping Pillar of Salt Korono 6-1. Stuart Harvey (3) and Sean Smith were among the scorers.
