MALVERN continued their revival with a 3½-2½ win over Kidderminster to leave three teams in with a chance of the Worcestershire League Division One title.

After the first games to finish, the match was level with Matthew Jordan’s queen’s side pressure gaining a win to balance a loss on board six.

John Knee drew a steady positional game, while Brian Turner caught his opponent’s king in the centre of the board and developed a decisive attack to put Malvern ahead.

Tony Shaw and captain Geofrey Herbert drew to secure Malvern’s win.
