IAN Goddard finished the season in style by winning the last of Malvern United winter league matches at Colwall Fishponds.

He clinched the Winter Cup for the five-match series after catching a mixed bag of 11lbs 9oz with maggots in cold conditions.

Second-placed Chris Loveridge was some way behind with 5-4 and John Shaw third with 3-12 which secured the Baker Cup as consolation.

Other weights: John Barr 3-9, Dave Wilkes 1-0. Winter League: Goddard 17 points, Dave Wilkes 10, Loveridge 10.
