MALVERN Hills closed on the Worcester and District League Saturday Division Two top four with a 3-1 win over West Malvern 2012.

The hosts controlled the game for large periods despite falling behind to a header.

Hills reacted well and, from a long Anthony Orgee throw, Craig Tommey ran on to volley the ball over the keeper.

The second goal came 20 minutes from time when Matt McIntosh flicked on another long throw and Tommey bagged his brace at the second attempt.

Hills ensured the win after McIntosh beat three players to set Orgee free and his cross was well finished by Carl Foskett.

Newtown Sports upset Division One leaders Powick with a 3-2 derby away success. Malvern Radar maintained their Sunday Division One 100 per cent record with an 8- 1 crushing of Goodrest Juniors to go nine points clear at the top of the table.

Seven players got on the scoresheet for Radar who also missed a late penalty.

James Allen smashed a hat-trick for Malvern Rangers VFC in a 3-2 Division Four win at Droitwich Spa Eagle Reserves.

In Division Five, Leigh and Bransford Badgers returned after a weatherenforced break of nearly two months but lost 4-0 at Worcester Rileys to two goals in either half.
