NUNNERY WOOD SPORTS 1, POWICK 5

POWICK travelled to Nunnery Wood Sports Centre to play in this Worcester Nursing Cup match.

Only four minutes into the game Powick went in front when Ed Wray's volley found the top corner of the net. Ten minutes later, Nunnery got a corner which was crossed only for Powick's stand-in keeper, Tim Lambeth, to punch into his own net.

Bryan Craven and Paul Edwards caused all sorts of problems for the Wood's defence. Craven was then fouled in the box and he slotted home the penalty.

The second-half again started well for Powick whose midfield of Gary Henderson, Ben Pearson and Michael Pearson passed the ball around with confidence. The back four of Hart, Skilton, Lewis and O'Connell ably dealt with any Nunnery Wood attacks.

Powick's third goal came with good interplay between the midfielder and Gary Henderson put Bryan Craven through to score his second goal.

With Powick now on top, the manager Michael Burton, changed Ben Pearson for Adam Derrington who immediately got on the scoresheet with a fine drive into the bottom corner.

Powick's fifth and final goal came when a Nunnery Wood layer passed back to his keeper who picked up the ball. The resulting free-kick hit the wall and fell to Bryan Craven who fired low into the net for his hat-trick.

Man-of-the-match was Powick's captain, Stuart Hart.
