2012 began well on January 2, with The Bosbury Big Brunch. The walkers had near perfect, if a little muddy, conditions for the guided walks and returned to the Parish Hall for a splendid selection of steaming bowls of soup, bacon rolls and warming refreshments. The kitchen team provided Brunch from 9.30am to 1pm for many non-walkers, as well as walkers, who just turned up for the good food and some great company. Thanks are due to the kitchen team and walk leaders, who gave a memorable start to the New Year for all those who came along and supported the event.

On Sunday, January 8, Parish Communion will be celebrated at 9.30am in Holy Trinity Church, Bosbury. All are welcome.

The next meeting of Bosbury WI is on Thursday, January 12 at 7.30pm in Bosbury Parish Hall. Jill Salmonds, the guest speaker will talk about Chinese Textiles. Visitors are most welcome.

If you want to keep fit or would like to get fitter, there is excellent news that two new Pilates Groups are starting in the Parish Hall in January. To take part all you need is a mat and a cushion.

The first group will start on Monday, January 16 from 11am to noon. Joy Pearman will run this class for six weeks at a charge of £30, slightly more if you pay weekly.

The second, run by Sally Nicholls will start on Tuesday January 24 from 9.15am to 10.15am. The cost will be £5 per session and is aimed at parents who have just dropped children off at school, though anyone else is very welcome.

Both teachers have considerable experience and will accommodate all abilities.

By the way Joy is also interested in starting a Zumba class – an exercise class based on Latin dances, see www.Zumba.com – possibly on a Wednesday evening at 8pm or a Thursday afternoon at 2pm.
