FOR a magical hour on Tuesday, members of the Garden and Nature Club were transported from cold and wet West Malvern to the plains of the Serengeti and the wonder of the Ngoro Ngoro crater in Tanzania through the amazing photographs of former safari guide, Mike Wilkes.

From a close-up of a tortoise drinking to hippo sumo-wrestling, from a portrait of a buffalo after his mud bath to a lizard crunching an outsize grasshopper, his pictures – and the amusing tales that went with them – kept the audience in wonderment and laughter.
