FOURTEEN members of Powick Ramblers plus dogs Monty, Bess and Tilly met at Hadley Bowling Green Inn last Wednesday for a six-mile walk.

Following the path across pasture and through woods, on to Hadley, the walk passed the old Hadley Quarry, the High School, Droitwich Leisure Centre and offices of Wychavon District Council. Next week’s walk is on Friday, March 22, meeting at 10am at British Camp car park for a circular walk down to Colwall and back.

The leader is Brian (01684 573562) The Open the Book team that went into Powick Primary School last Thursday morning was surprised to see nearly all the pupils and staff dressed up as characters from a variety of favourite books to celebrate World Book Day, including Mr Drewitt as James Bond.

Link Nurseries’ coffee morning last Friday was well attended and a demonstration on sowing seeds was given by Roger.

The service for Mothering Sunday was held at St James’ church in Callow End when mothers and grandmothers received posies of flowers made by Frances Betts and pieces of Simnel cake were given out with coffee at the end of the service.

Next Saturday, March 23, a coffee morning with bric-a-brac, cakes and raffle will be held in St James’ Church, Callow End, from 10am-noon in aid of the Barnabas Fund.

Book your team of four for the quiz being held in Powick Parish Hall next Saturday, March 23, from 7.30pm.

Entry is £3 per person, payable on the night.

Callow End Primary School is supporting Comic Relief with a non-uniform day and a cake sale today.
