POWICK Parish Hall Management Committee invites all hall users to its Annual General Meeting on Monday at 7.30pm in the meeting room of the Hall.
Sixteen walkers and dogs Monty, Tess and little Stanley walked five-and-half miles last Thursday, starting from the village hall in Wichenford.
The path led to Monkwood and the Worcestershire Nature Reserve.
After the wood the footpath led through Bulmers’ apple orchards and back to the hall by Wichenford Church.
A short detour led to some fine old barns and the 17th Century half-timbered dovecote (NT) by Wichenford Court.
Some of the walkers enjoyed a fine lunch at the Masons Arms where Don was thanked for leading a good walk.
The next walk is on Wednesday, meeting at the New Inn, Storridge, for a four-mile walk led by Garth (01886 833326).
Those who attended the Women’s World Day of Prayer at St James’, Callow End, last Friday, were treated to a taste of French cuisine.
Led by Julia Davis, the service included readings by women in the church with organist Sally Linsey playing the hymns and French Taize chants.
Rita Walker delivered an interesting description of her life in France.
A feast of French cheeses, croissants, apple tarts, and a selection of wines and juices concluded the evening.
At St Peter’s Church last Sunday, little Harriet Valerie Margaret Lester was baptised by Reverend Sue Irwin and welcomed into the church.
After the party for Harriet, the bell-ringers rang a quarter peal in her honour.
