IN spite of the wet weather and resulting muddy conditions, members of Powick Ramblers have braved the elements and supported the walks.

For fine weather walkers there is another walk on Thursday, February 28, meeting at 10am at Wichenford Church (GR787602) for a five mile walk to Monk and Cotheridge Woods and a visit to Wichenford Dovecot (NT). The leader is Don (01905 820615).

On Friday, March 1, a service for Women’s World Day of Prayer is being held at St James’ Church, Callow End at 7.30pm led by Julia Davies. This year the women of France have planned it and the theme is: I was a stranger and you welcomed me, with guest speaker Rita Walker. Refreshments with a French flavour will follow.

The coffee shop in Callow End on Wednesday afternoons continued throughout the bad weather.

In fact one afternoon 30 people enjoyed tea and cakes and swapped books.

The Friends of Link Nurseries are holding a coffee morning at the nursery in Hospital Lane, from 10am till noon on Friday, March 8, when there will be a demonstration of seed sowing, plus raffle.
