AN important village meeting is planned for Wednesday (7.45pm for 8pm), at The Memorial Hall.

All residents are asked to make a special effort to attend this meeting where the future of The Farmers Arms will be discussed.

Your opinion counts. The building is up for sale and your vote may decide what becomes of it. For further details, contact Richard Hurley on 01531 633230.

The daffodils which were planted on the roadside verges throughout the village as part of the Jubilee celebrations, are now making an appearance.

Unfortunately, heavy vehicles have driven on the verges and squashed some of the plants, and building activities which involve the placing of underground cables have also jeopardised their survival. If you see any uprooted daffodils, please replant them.

Come along to the Memorial Hall on Tuesday evening at 7.30pm for the monthly film evening, where Laughter in Paradise will be screened.

This is a British comedy released in 1951 about a millionaire who leaves unusual instructions in his will.

Admission is free..
