LAST Sunday, the morning service at St Peter’s was a thanksgiving for two children Olivia Malpas- Weaver of Callow End and Harriet Lester.
As it was the first Sunday of Advent, a candle was lit on the Advent Wreath.
Also in the service, baby Olivia Susan was baptised by the Rev Sue Irwin and Olivia’s sister Holly and family and friends were there to support her.
Members of Powick Guild heard a detailed account of the work of Childline, given by Colin Butler, at their November meeting.
The organisation works with the NSPCC and is available to all children at risk from abuse and illtreatment.
Next Friday, December 14, acoffee morning will be held at the Link Nurseries, Hospital Lane from 10am to noon.
Coffee and home-made cake costs £1.50 and there will be a raffle and a demonstration of how to make a Christmas wreath.
