Local people missed a rare treat last Saturday when Ross Couper and Tom Oakes entertained with some wonderful Shetland tunes on fiddle and strong rhythms on guitar, plus own-penned material, in Powick Parish Hall.
There was smart turnout by the young people of the uniformed organisations which supported the Royal British Legion at the Act of Remembrance in Powick Church last Sunday.
The Last Post and Reveille were sounded on bugle by Lara Byrne and the words of the Homage spoken by Ian Gane who also led the prayers.
A coffee morning and bring-and-buy will be held next Friday, November 23, at 17 Bramley Close, Colletts Green (the home of Chris and Ken Hipwell) from 10am to noon. The event is in aid of the NSPCC.
