A LARGE area of Upton lost power on Tuesday afternoon after a fault with electrical cables developed near to Clive’s Fruit Farm.
A fire crew from Upton was sent out at about 2.45pm and discovered a cable arcing. They made the area safe before handing over to engineers for electricity supplier E.on. Power was returned a short while later.
Town councillor Peter Webb said it seemed as though the cut affected the whole town.
“My wife had gone out to get somebody a prescription and ended up having to go all the way to Barnards Green because the shops here were affected,” he said.
