LABOUR'S parliamentary candidate for Worcester shared a video suggesting footage of the Westminster terror attack had been doctored.

Mandy Richards shared the conspiracy film, titled Westminster Attack investigation v.2.0, in April last year.

She also questioned the evidence behind the murder of British MP Jo Cox in the same tweet.

In another tweet she asked why there were no images or footage of damage at the Manchester Arena, following the bomb attack last year.

Mike Foster, the former Labour MP for Worcester, has now called for the candidate to be 'sacked immediately'.

Miss Richards tweeted: "Glad someone asking right questions about #terror coverage. #JoCox incident conveniently bereft of evidence too."

In another tweet, posted in May last year, she said: "Can news agencies, police or anyone else for that matter explain why still no images/footage of physical damage at #ManchesterArena?"

The tweets were unearthed after a Sunday Times article exposed Miss Richards as a 'fantasist who has been placed under 14 extended civil restraint orders by the High Court'.

She also pondered the high 'incidence' of celebrity deaths in another tweet, after Sister Sledge star Joni Sledge died in 2017.

The Sunday Times story said she was banned from bringing court actions without a judge’s permission after 'false and vexatious claims' against MI5, MI6, the Metropolitan police, the army, Thames Water, her gas, electricity and broadband suppliers, Royal Mail, Hackney council, her GP and the freeholder of her flat.

The Worcester News has learnt that Miss Richards chose not to disclose anything in her background which could bring the party into disrepute in her candidacy application form or interview.

Mr Foster said: "She should have been sacked on Sunday. This has been a really sorry saga from start to finish."

He added that Worcester Labour Party members were innocent victims in the affair.

He said: "They are volunteers and would not be expected to deeply vet every candidate that applies to become parliamentary candidate.

"They were totally in the dark about all of this. They feel duped, some feel foolish, others have said how it has damaged Worcester Labour Party.

"The fault is with the national party, which has worked their candidates, like Mandy, to the fore, who have proclaimed their loyalty to Jeremy [Corbyn].

"It's very clear that after Mandy had been selected that the national Labour Party knew there was a problem with her being a candidate."

Mr Foster thinks the party knew about Miss Richards' past because the Shadow Home Secretary, Diane Abbott, was involved in the candidate's court case over her defeat in the 2016 London Assembly election.

Both the Labour Party and Mandy Richards have been approached for comment.
