CHILDREN and staff at Dines Green Primary School raised more than £100 for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Youngsters at the Tudor Way school invited staff from the charity to a special assembly as part of their Random Acts of Kindness Week.

As part of the festivities, each pupil picked a name at random and had to be extra kind to that person.

Valentine’s Day was celebrated with a whole school lunch where children dined in mixed ages groups.

Students decorated the hall with hearts, flowers and balloons to enhance the love and kindness theme.

Chef Matt Rawlings created heart shaped desserts and the the children even had plastic champagne glasses to toast the kindness.

Reception teacher Catherine Stitchman said: “The whole school had a fabulous week and enjoyed exploring different kindness quotes, our favourite being ‘be kind whenever possible. It is always possible’ - Dalai Lama.”

The week concluded with children and staff nominating class members for kindness awards.
