ACOUSTIC acts will take centre stage at Jack Blackman's 'Tuery Sessions' this weekend.

The event, which is taking place at the Cross Keys in Alcester, will feature two talented acts alongside the resident musician.

Alex Taylor, an energetic and passionate vocalist, and dexterous guitarist, who also uses some dynamic loop pedal trickery for good measure, will perform a melody of songs in his unique style, which splices elements of soul, nu-folk and electronica.

Alex's debut album features performances from members of The Invisible, Phantom Limb, Portishead and Massive Attack.

Also taking to the spotlight is Henry Parker, his repertoire draws on traditional material alongside original songs and instrumentals, all of which are bound together by a creative and distinctive fingerstyle approach.

Rooted in the sound of original 60s folk guitar, Henry's music withholds and develops a style first spearheaded by iconic players such as John Renbourn, Davey Graham and Bert Jansch.

The free event on Sunday, April 9, starts at 6pm and will include a raffle featuring CDs from all the performers, and jam session.
