SOME people have a horse and carriage, some people have a classic car or even a limousine. For one newly-wed Evesham couple however, a surprise waited for them outside the church that they won’t forget in a hurry.

Unbeknownst to them, their friends and colleagues at Budget Skips had decided to take matters into their own hands and organised some surprised transport to Bretforton Church just a few minutes away.

Jason and Iona Smith were greeted with a gigantic digger outside the church after the ceremony, helpfully ‘acquired’ from the waste disposal company.

Bethany Holloway from Budget Skips said: “We surprised them with their transport outside the church. The venue was within walking distance, they had planned on just walking! But we took them in style.”

According to Ms Holloway, keeping the large vehicle hidden “sometimes proved tricky”.

“They had absolutely no idea that it was planned. We had to prepare all morning to safely get the vehicle to Bretforton Church.”

She added: “Ioana was keen to stand straight into the bucket.”

Mr and Mrs Smith were also happy to pose for photographs with the digger before being scooped up and whisked away to the wedding reception.
