A FUNDRAISING group is looking for golfers to help raise money for a volunteer lifesaving crew.

Independent Fundraisers of Worcester is hosting its fourth annual charity golf day at Ombersley Golf Club on Thursday, June 28 in aid of West Mercia Search and Rescue (WMSAR).

West Mercia Search and Rescue is a charity that provides trained, well equipped specialists to assist the emergency services in the search for missing vulnerable adults and children, flood rescue, rapid water rescue and lowland rescue.

WMSAR has to raise its own funding to keep operational and to cover its extensive training costs.

The 18 hole amateur competition is open to male, female and mixed teams of four, three or two.

Prizes will be awarded to the winning team, best individual, nearest the pun, longest drive and longest putt. A 'yellow ball' competition will also take place.

Entry costs £45 per head and includes a two course carvery served before the prize presentation. A raffle will also take place on the day with a wide range of prizes.

Sponsorship and prize donations are always welcomed.
