THE historic Worcester Guildhall is set to host its first wedding fair.

The event on Sunday, October 7, will feature a catwalk show at noon, where local volunteers will model a range of bridal wear and suits for grooms.

Guildhall event organiser Aimee Allen said: “This won’t be your typical designer catwalk show – we deliberately wanted to see brides and grooms of all ages and sizes having fun and showing off some fabulous clothes.”

Over 30 local firms will be showcased at the event, including Perfections Bridal Studio, The Bridal Boutique of Worcester, Armstrongs tailors and suit hire, Gatehouse Brides and LaceWings Bridal Boutique.

As an additional incentive, interested parties attending the event will be entered into a draw to win the free hire of Guildhall rooms for their wedding ceremony.

A total of 250 free goodie bags will also be given away on a first come, first served basis, including a number of wedding-related freebies and vouchers.

The fair will run from 10am to 3.30pm.

The city council has a licence to conduct wedding, civil partnership and naming ceremonies at the Guildhall.
