A CATSHILL mum has launched her own baby development classes, featuring massages and pilates, sign language and sensory play.

The Lullababy programme was set up by child development teacher Jo Coote, and aims to expose babies to experiences that build connections in the brain and promote early development

Founder Jo, who has a degree in child studies and 20 years' experience working in child development, said: "I've been operating baby classes in the area for just over five years now.

"I've got my own son, Henry, but he's six now so I've got a bit more time to develop my own classes.

"We've had lots of interest so far and already have four fully booked classes."

Lullababy caters for babies from the time they were born to five years, with different sessions designed to suit varying age ranges.

Step one is a week foundation course designed for the youngest babies - up to five months - and their caregivers, including baby massage, pilates, paediatric first aid, baby disco and social time.

The second step, for babies aged two months to 13 months, offers a weekly themed adventure such as pilates, music and rhymes, sign language, sensory play and relaxation time.

Step three, for babies up to two years of age, features weekly sessions filled with age-appropriate child-initiated play and tidy-up, music and rhymes, sensory play and relaxation time.

Lullababy also organises special events and first aid courses.

Classes are held on Wednesdays and Fridays and the Recreation Ground in Stourbridge Road.
