A FLOTILLA of boats will light up Evesham for this year's river festival.

Evesham's annual riverboat festival includes live music, entertainment and river activities before an iluminated boat parade and fireworks in the evening.

There will be a family zone, narrowboats and steam boats with the main attraction the 1933 RNLI lifeboat that has a history in rescuing lives and was later named after the helm who gave his life to save others.

Live music starts on Saturday with a brass band at 11am and continues with the Worcestershire Levellers and Water Ukraine Band.

Dance troops will also be performing and making the atmosphere colourful with on water actives from a steam boats, stand up paddle boards and the annual build a raft and race it.

There are stalls for food, wine and ales.

The festival takes place on Saturday from 11am until 11pm and continues into Sunday.

It started in 1986 and it is held in Workman Gardens.
