A LIFE-saving defibrillator has been installed outside the Jinney Ring Craft Centre, thanks to donations from Hanbury businesses, residents and councillors.

The equipment was unveiled at the Hanbury Road centre on June 25 by the people who contributed money towards it.

Clare Stallard, from local social group Hanbury Hobnobs, said: "The owners of the Jinney Ring first suggested the idea and took it to the parish council and between us we all agreed to contribute towards it.

"Thanks to a generous £900 donation from the county councillor Peter Tomlinson, it didn't take us very long to get the money together.

"We're very grateful to the Jinney Ring not only for housing the defibrillator, but for their donation as well."

Members of the local Women's Institute also gave money towards the defib, which was installed by West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Clare added: "The group hope it will never be needed but it is reassuring to know that it is there."
