CHILDREN from a school near Tenbury have been getting into the planting habit.

Pupils of Lindridge Primary School planted in pots Little Lion Sunflower seeds and potatoes which would be taken for judging to Eastham Church on Sunday, August 19.

The prettiest sunflower and heaviest crop of spuds will receive prizes.

Planting and encouraging children to get closer to nature is part of the education programme at the school.

Children are also helped to understand where the food that they eat comes from and how it is grown.

They will also have learned the importance of the part that the weather plays in growing as well as the need for vegetables and flowers to be looked after properly and regularly watered.
