A PINK army of Kidderminster paintballers went to war at the weekend – all in the name of charity.

Dozens of people descended on Paintball Park in Kidderminster to raising more than £1,500 during the two-day event in aid of Cancer Research on June 16 and 17.

To add to the fun, players all wore pink clothing to support the charity while the company gave a discounted entrance price, part of which was donated to the cause.

A raffle was also held featuring a host of prizes which further aided the fundraising effort.

As well as players shooting each other, staff at the park also got in on the fun by taking part in sponsored gauntlets.

A spokeswoman for Paintball Park, said: “We had a successful fundraiser for Cancer Research, raising £1528.00 for the charity with players all wearing pink.

“On top of players running around and shooting each other while wearing pink, the marshals and managers were sponsored to do various gauntlets, which generally consisted of doing something silly while 80 people shoot at them - it was a brutally funny and painful task.

"Special thanks to the park managers Matt Arnold and Wayne Moore and the very brave marshals Sean Murrihy, Josh Welsh and Brad Downing, without them the day would have not been possible."

She added the park has been under new management since January with investment made to upgrade equipment.
