FAMILIES can take part in a host of free activities at Sanders Park next weekend.

From 10am to 2pm on Saturday, May 5, residents and visitors can try out sports and activities - from tennis to Tai Chi.

There will also be golf, football, rounders, bowls and outdoor fitness, a smoothie bike and multi-sports.

Everyone Active, which runs Bromsgrove Sports & Leisure Centre, will be hosting an information stall at the event.

Clubs showcasing on the day will have leaflets to take away, and offers for new members.

All activities will be open to adults and children.

The event marks the launch of Sanders Park Family Fun, a programme of events offering free sports, games and activities every Saturday from 11am to 12.30pm until the end of August.

Activities in the following weeks will include hockey, dodgeball, dance, cricket and junior Olympics.

Elisabeth Cottam, children and young people sports development officer at Bromsgrove District Council, said: "The open day has something for every age and generation to try and it’s all free.

"Come along and try some new sports or activities that you’ve never done before – who knows, you might find your new favourite hobby.

"And if you can’t make it to the launch event keep an eye on social media and our website to see what other activities we have on over the summer.”
