THREE people were taken to hospital after a crash between four vehicles, which also closed the A44 earlier this evening.

The crash happened around 5.45pm on the A44, near Throckmorton, and blocked the road.

In total three cars and a van were involved.

A 59-year-old man, driving the van self-extricated himself from the van and was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with head and hand injuries.

A 61-year-old female car driver suffered leg injuries and was also taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

A 32-year-old man, a passenger in a car which ended up on the embankment suffered injuries to his left-hand.

A spokesman from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said three people were taken to hospital with one person treated at the scene by the West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Police were also at the crash.

The road was reopened at around 8pm.
