A WOMAN suffered a cut to her arm after a reported wounding with intent attack that police are taking "very seriously."
West Mercia Police are investigating following an incident at 11.15pm on Friday night in Church Road, Malvern.
A man stopped to talk with two women, with the victim suffering a cut to her arm that required treatment.
Detective inspector Mark Walters of Worcester CID said: “I would like to reassure residents that we are taking this incident very seriously, and they will have noticed an increased police presence as enquiries continue.
“The man in question has been described as white, of slim build and aged in his late teens. He is thought to have been wearing a dark coat with the hood worn up or a hat.
“We’re thankful that the victim was not more seriously injured, but we are appealing for any potential witnesses or anyone with information to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 864s of 19 January.”
