A MAN who blockaded a supermarket delivery yard has launched another 'one man protest' against the store.

Andy Falconer, aged 61, of Barbel Crescent, Worcester, parked his car in front of the entrance to the Aldi delivery yard in Bath Road, Worcester, on Wednesday, August 23.

Mr Falconer positioned his car outside the delivery yard at 7am and ended his protest at about 11.45am when an Aldi area manager pledged to change their delivery times.

He previously trapped a delivery lorry in the yard on Sunday, July 30, after reaching 'breaking point' with deliveries arriving too early in the morning.

"The vehicle turned up early on a weekday. It shouldn't be before 6.30am but this one came at 6.10am," he said.

"By 6:20am we had the awful delivery clanging noises again.

"If you don't stand up and insist on them carrying out what they said they would they will always get away with it.

"It's the principle and the noise is ridiculous, it woke me up. It's spoiling our lives.

"I went round there and waited until the lorry had gone and then sat there for hours.

"They rang the area manager. She said will you move the car and I said not until someone comes down to speak to me."

Mr Falconer said the area manager told him they would move their earliest delivery time from 6.30am to 7am between Monday and Saturday and from 8am to 8.30am on Sunday.

"They are saying to drivers don't pitch up before 7am and on a Sunday not before 8.30am," he said.

"I think they are hoping if anyone turns up early it will be 10 or 15 minutes at the most.

"I will keep complaining in a way that will get noticed. Writing doesn't work. I'm hoping this time it will stop."

Mr Falconer said he rang the police on 101 to make sure his actions were legal before launching the protest.

He ended his previous blockade because police warned him he was at risk of breaking the law by trapping a delivery lorry.

This time he decided to block the entrance to the yard instead of parking in front of a delivery lorry at the store.
