A PUB will re-open for business on Friday after engineering work forced it to close for a week.
The Saracens Head in The Tything closed last Thursday for the electrics to be upgraded, sparking rumours that the pub may have closed.
The owner of the pub, Sarah Hardwick has quashed these rumours and said that the pub will offer £2.50 pints all weekend to its customers to thank them for their patience.
She said: "The pub had to be closed for a week as the electrics needed to be upgraded and a new fire alarm put in, it is an old building and sometimes upgrades are needed.
"It was an annoying time for us to be closed because of the beer festival but I just accepted whenever the engineers said that they could do the work."
