AN unlikely doggy duo, who are both ex-residents at Dogs Trust Evesham, have become the best of friends, despite weighing in at opposite ends of the size scale.

Tiny four-month-old Patterdale Terrier, Jet, who was adopted earlier this month by Kevin and Dawn Summerfield from Inkberrow, Worcestershire, weighs just 6kg but shares her new home with Rhona the four-year-old Great Dane, who, at 58kg, weighs the equivalent of a dishwasher.

Rhona was adopted back in 2014 by the duo from the Wickhamford rehoming centre after she was found wandering the streets as a stray.

The doggy double act have landed on their paws with their devoted owners.

Mr Summerfield said: “We’ve always owned multiple dogs but never a pair that were this different in size. They are already the best of friends and are very fond of each other.

“They are a wonderful pair but very different in their personalities. Jet is a cheeky little thing who loves to explore, whereas Rhona is much more relaxed and takes everything in her stride. Little Jet is very much the leader of the two, despite only reaching up to Rhona’s knees!

“They are chalk and cheese but are the perfect fit for our family and we’re so pleased that we were able to give them a happy home.”
