CHILDREN and families that will be helped by the Acorns Hospice movement were in the thoughts of people at a special family-style fun-day in memory of Jack Edwards.

Jack was remembered and his life celebrated at Farlow and Orleton Village Hall where the event organised by his mum Chrissie, family and friends raised money for the Acorns Children’s Hospice.

People taking part included Jack’s friends, one of whom had his head shared for charity.

Jack became ill in 2012 and was found to be suffering from leukaemia.

The seven-year-old from Cleobury Mortimer died at home last August, four years after being diagnosed with the disease.

Jack received extensive treatment at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and had been lined up for a bone marrow transplant.

But sadly his condition deteriorated a year ago and he died.

During his illness his family received extensive support from the community in and around Cleobury Mortimer.
