VISITORS to Halesowen Leisure Centre will be in a spin as the popular static bikes are replaced.
The current spin bikes, being used in the centre’s spinning sessions, were installed seven years ago with grant assistance from Public Health and West Midlands Police.
But the popularity of the spin sessions has meant that the bikes have been subject to heavy use and are now near the end of their useful life.
As part of a £5,000 investment, the centre installing 11 new bikes in the coming weeks, ready for use by members and non-member alike.
For more information, or to book on a spin class, visit www.dudley.gov.uk/sport or call 01384 812800.
Councillor Ian Kettle, Dudley Council's cabinet member responsible for leisure centres, said: “The centre’s spin classes are always hugely popular and the bikes have served the centre’s users well.
“We have decided to invest in new bikes which will improve the spin classes for all users. I hope we’ll see more people taking advantage of the centre’s facilities.”
