A WORCESTER mother has set up an inclusive beauty pageant to celebrate diversity.

Jasmine Pratt, aged 22, of Warndon Villages, decided to set up the Miss Mystic Beauty Pageant after being unable to apply for more conventional contests due to their restrictions.

Miss Pratt, who has a two-year-old son named Alfie, said: "I am not going to name and shame but some of the conditions state you cannot take part if you have given birth.

"I wanted to celebrate individual beauty and promote inclusion in the pageant system."

The event, which aims to celebrate, empower and inspire women, will also raise money for People In Motion, a charitable organisation that provides support to displaced people.

Miss Pratt, who was crowned Miss Charm and Elegance UK earlier this month, added: "The charity is something I really look forward to supporting, everybody deserves a help, wherever they are from."

So far the competition has eight finalists but has spaces for 15 in total.

As well as the title, contestants can vie for Miss Congeniality, which is chosen by the other contestants, Miss Charity, Miss Publicity, Miss Potential, and Miss Inspiration.

There are also prizes for second and third place.

The winner will be crowned at Archdales 73 club in Worcester on Sunday, October 22.

All applicants must be over 18. To apply email your name, age, address, a headshot and a personal statement to missmysticbeauty@outlook.com.

Finalist are required to pay a £20 deposit to secure their place and a finalist sash will then be delivered. The total fee is £50.
