BUSINESSES from south Shropshire are coming together to support the big charity ‘dog day’ being organised by Ludlow Rotary Club.

Hobsons Brewery is offering free entry tickets in a prize competition with their Old Prickly beer and Tuffins, the largest independently owned supermarket in Shropshire, is showcasing the competition in their Craven Arms supermarket.

Reuben Crouch of Hobsons Brewery said the company is pleased to be supporting an event that supports good causes.

“Hobsons is delighted to support Ludlow Rotary Club again in this charity fundraising effort,” he said.

“We know that all the money goes to really deserving causes, and we hope the prize competition will focus interest in the event, and give three lucky groups free entry to what is a really good day out for adults, children and, of course, dogs, while helping deserving members of the community.”

Angus Kerr of Ludlow Rotary Club said that the support of business is important to help cover the considerable costs of putting on the event that takes place at Stokesay Court on Sunday, July 23.

“The support of local businesses like Tuffins and Hobsons is really great because our set up costs are covered and all monies raised on the day can go to good causes,” Angus Kerr said.

Major beneficiaries this year will be Alzheimer’s Society, Hope House Children’s Hospice, Forest Dog Rescue, and Canine Partners.
