KIND solicitors pitched in to help raise more than £1,500 for a Kidderminster hospice at their annual charity golf day.

Painters Solicitors hit the greens at Kidderminster Golf Club earlier this month and raised a record £1,721 for Kemp Hospice.

It is the firm’s sixth annual golf day, aimed at raising cash for a local charity, and this is the highest they’ve ever raised.

Will Painter, organiser of the event, said: “It’s a great afternoon where you can enjoy a game of golf with colleagues and friends followed by a buffet meal and charity raffle in the clubhouse afterwards.

“This has now become an established event in our golfing calendar for many local businesses and it kick starts the golf season.

“Well done to everyone that was involved and we hope to do it all over again in 2018 so watch this space.”

Cathy Sloan, Head of Fundraising at Kemp Hospice, added: “We’re really grateful to Painters Solicitors for organising such a fantastic event again this year and I would like to thank all the individuals, golfers and businesses who gave up their time in support of Kemp.

“The money raised will go towards maintaining services at the hospice which cares for local people here in the Wyre Forest. As well as supporting those living with a life limiting illness, we also offer counselling for both adults and young people who are facing bereavement.

“Our support is offered for the patient and their wider family and we could not provide our services without community support like this.”
