A NAKED calendar featuring members of Kemerton's Women's Institute (WI) had its big reveal at a jam-packed launch party.

Friends, family and village residents, turned out to The Crown Inn in Kemerton to glimpse the risque calendar and meet the brave models last Thursday.

The calendar - which features the plucky fundraisers in a variety of tasteful poses - is being sold to raise money for St Richard's Hospice and Guideposts, a social care and mental health charity.

And since the launch party, more than £1,000 has already been raised - while yet more calendars are available to buy from Kemerton Stores.

Linda Marcham, a member of Kemerton WI and calendar model, said: "Our calendar launch at The Crown was a huge success attended by many.

"The calendar was very well received by all who attended who thought it very tasteful and of superb quality. The sale of the calendar was brisk and for an extra £2 all the 'calendar girls' autographed their pictures.

"Many more photos were taken on the evening but requests for us to bare all again were turned down due to the chilly evening weather!

"The whole event turned into a wonderful social evening and I would like to give my thanks to all who attended, so far we have raised more than £1,000 and calendars are still available from Kemerton Stores."

Of the many poses inside, there are shots of the WI ladies standing around a piano singing carols, or bedecked in their finest hats and jewellery for the Cheltenham races.

And January's opening photograph shows the brave women wrapped in an enormous, hand-knitted scarf.

The ladies are aged between their 30s to their 90s, and Ms Marcham said they all had a "fun" time putting together the calendar.

The photographs were taken by Rose Finch and Jayne Winter, who were presented with flowers by WI President Pam Schermuly at the launch party.
