MEMBERS of the community in Leominster are being urged to honour the town's young unsung heroes by nominating them for an award.

Readers are being asked to help find under-16s who have positively impacted the community, helped a local charity or undertaken exceptional activities in support of others.

Public nominations for the British Citizen Youth Awards (BCYA), in association with Specsavers, will be accepted until September 16, before being reviewed by the BCYA committee.

Parents or carers will need to validate the nomination, and nominations will need to be seconded by someone not related to the child.

To apply, email jacquif@britishcitizensawards.co.uk with BCYA in the subject line.

A list of this year’s recipients will be published in October 2016 ahead of a private ceremony where the selected nominees will be presented with titles and medals at The Palace of Westminster.
