A Pershore High School student has brought home silver and gold medals from the Surf Lifesaving Wales National Lifesaving Championships.

Amy Weston, aged 14, of Flyford Flavell took part in individual and team events during the weekend of Saturday, January 30 and Sunday, January 31.

She won two golds with the team and a silver in the individual 100m Rescue Medley, which featured a 50m swim, along with 17.5m underwater to recover an eight stone manikin, bring it to the surface before completing the remaining 32.5m.

This competition marks the beginning of the National Lifesaving Championships throughout the UK and Amy will be competing at the Olympic Pool in London, along with other team members from South Worcester Lifeguards, who are based in Pershore, at the end of February.
