THE paparazzi will be swarming around Kidderminster when the Museum of Carpet hosts its Week at the Oscars for the half term holidays.

Visitors can expect star treatment when they step onto the red carpet as a fun-filled programme has been devised for the most demanding of stars.

Running between Tuesday (February 16) and Saturday, February 20, there will be two different craft activities taking place each day including ‘make a flip book’ and ‘create your own movie award’.

Painting skills will be tested with a workshop called ‘silhouette paparazzi painting’ when visitors will get the chance to create a colourful image of themselves. There’s also plenty of hands-on activities such as ‘make a red carpet scene’ and for those who aren’t as crafty, there’s the chance to have a go at the movie themed trail that will wind its way around the museum.

Each of these sessions costs £3 and includes a tour of the museum as well.

But, if you think you’re a superstar in the making, you can attend the special red letter day taking place on Friday, February 19. Here visitors will get the chance to dress up and strut their stuff on the red carpet. Activities on this day include ‘create your own walk of fame star’ and everyone who attends can make a film strip.

In the morning, visitors can settle in with popcorn and a drink and enjoy an Oscar nominated children’s movie. Tickets for this star-studded day are £6.50 which includes entry to the museum. Activities will run from 10.30am until 3.30pm and the movie will start at 11.30am.
