The old Stuart Crystal glassworks site in Camp Hill is being transformed in a scheme, by Complex Development Projects Ltd and the British Glass Foundation, which will see a £5.5million new glass museum created, along with new offices and 18 loft apartments.

The one and two-bedroom canalside homes are set to be completed by February and are expected to go on the market for between £100,000 and £190,000 with Stourbridge estate agents Lex Allen.

Ian Harrabin, managing director of Complex Development Projects Ltd, has described the project, which will preserve historic listed buildings on the site and the remains of the old White House Cone, as "something very special" and he said the development would be "a jewel at the gateway to the Glass Quarter".

Building work is now moving forward at a pace after a European Regional Development Fund grant of £2.13 was confirmed in August.

The new museum, which will provide a new home for the borough's prized glass collection from around autumn 2016, will replace world famous Broadfield House Glass Museum in Kingswinford which is set to close its doors to the public at the end of September.
