A TEENAGER was taken to hospital after being rescued from the canal in Worcester.
Emergency services rushed to the incident near Chestnut Street at 4.26pm on Monday (August 3) following reports a 16-year-old boy was in the water.
The male was however brought to safety using a pole before the crews arrived.
Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene, assessed the teenager on site and then took him to Worcestershire Royal Hospital as a precaution.
West Mercia Police were also present alongside firefighters from Worcester.
Two Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service boat crews and a water first responder crew were also sent to the incident.
But they were stood down prior to arrival as the 16-year-old had already been rescued.
