A LONG battle to improve traffic woes at a notorious Woodsetton junction has been won.

For years motorists have complained of tailbacks at lights at the junction of Parkes Hall Road and Sedgley Road, near the Bramford Arms.

Ward councillor Dean Perks has been campaigning for "a simple change" to a three-way system which he said would "make the world of difference to what is a notorious pinch point for motorists".

His persistence has now paid off and the lights have been adjusted to allow traffic to turn right unopposed from Parkes Hall Road in both directions.

Cllr Perks said: "Common sense has now prevailed.

"The council will be monitoring for a couple of weeks and will adjust timings as necessary but I've had some great feedback, it has already made an impact."
