YOUNGSTERS at Little Learners Pre-School in Droitwich got their hands dirty recently with a visit from volunteers at the local community garden.
The pre-school, which is based in the Scout Hut on Cockshute Hill had a visit from Paul Edwards and Chris Colley from the Wilmslow Avenue community garden.
The two brought plant pots, seeds and compost, and the children had a chance to test out their green fingers with the help of Sharon Hunter and Barbara Bradley who own Little Learners, encouraged the children to plant their seeds, as well as showing them how to look after them and what they would grow into.
Some of the children opted for flowers like sweet peas, while others planted sweet red pepper seeds in hope of being able to eat them one they had grown.
Barbara Bradley said: “Everyone really enjoyed this activity, not only the planting but also connecting with and contributing to the local community.
“We are very grateful to Paul and Chris for coming along to the pre-school and look forward to their next visit.”
