THREE teenagers have been taken to hospital after their car overturned during a horror crash between Evesham and Stratford-upon-Avon.

A 17-year-old female, who was trapped in the vehicle for 30 minutes, suffered a serious head injury, a fractured right arm and suspected back and pelvic injuries.

A trapped male incurred serious head and facial injuries, as well as chest problems.

The driver however walked away from the wreckage with only minor injuries after managing to free himself from the vehicle.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident near Haselor, Alcester, at 10.50pm yesterday (March 27).

Three ambulances, a paramedic support officer in a rapid response car, a community paramedic and the MERIT team were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews found a car had overturned in Wilmcote Lane between Aston Cantlow and Haselor.

“The driver had extricated himself from the vehicle and was treated for minor injuries before being taken to Warwick Hospital.

“Crews also treated two further patients for serious head injuries.

“A 17-year-old was trapped for approximately 30 minutes. She was treated for a serious head injury, a fractured right arm and suspected back and pelvic injuries.

"The patient was immobilised with the use of a neck collar, spinal board and pelvic splint. The MERIT Doctor anaesthetised the patient before she was pre-alerted to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

“A man was also trapped and treated for serious head and facial injuries as well as chest and suspected back and pelvic injuries. The patient was also immobilised and anaesthetised before being conveyed to the University hospital."
