A Malvern bed and breakfast owner went under the nation's spotlight as it featured on a popular televisions show.

Geri Atterbury battled it out with three other bed and breakfast owners, all wanting to be crowned winner of Channel 4 show, "Four in a Bed".

Mrs Atterbury, who has owned Greenways Bed and Breakfast for five years, said featuring in the show was a worthwhile experience.

She said: "It was a worthwhile experience. I went in there to be myself, and to not get involved in the character assassination, which goes on as that makes good television.

"I wanted to be as nice as I could and stay true to myself. I refused to get drawn into all that.

"It was a weird feeling watching myself on television, it was very strange, as was the whole filming process.

"We were all totally worn out, the filming scheduled was so hectic.

"We were being filmed from early morning until late at night. We didn't really a have a break from it, so when it came to do the interviews you could tell everyone was feeling exhausted. It was a lot of scrutiny to be under."

After accepting the invitation from Channel 4 to go on the show, Mrs Atterbury was up against bed and breakfast owners from North Wales, South Wales and Bewdley, also in Worcestershire.

As well as putting them up for the night, the owners are asked to show their guests around the town they reside in and show them the sights.

It was the Bewdley bed and breakfast, Royal Forester, which won the show, with Greenways, in Church Street, coming third.

Mrs Atterbury said: "I took them to the Malvern Hills, the Malvern Hills Hotel and to Eastnor Castle, which are all beautiful places.

"Unfortunately it wasn't enough, and I came third, but I felt some comments were a bit harsh from some of the other owners.

"One woman didn't stay in the en-suite, but that's because she wasn't given the choice. She marked me down for that quite harshly, and also had a go at the television in the room, which was a bit old but it still felt a bit harsh.

"It was also said the room's wallpaper was busy.

"Watching people be critical wasn't very nice. But it did make me look at my business and I have since renovated the room, so I learned from that.

"Coming third isn't too bad, at least it's not last. Overall it was really fun and I'm glad I did it.

The programme can be viewed on Channel 4's 4OD.
